“Wyla is the name of the dog that I saw running out of the woods while I was watching two trees reenact a Shakespearean argument. The name was explained to me from a child no older than 10 as being derived from Wiley E. Coyote’s sister and I haven’t been able to shake that notion since. The music is me wylin out, and I’ll never stop. This band has shifted to fit everywhere I’ve lived. This version Bleach Ceviche is the most in-line with the music I made as an excited and frustrated Teenager. Both intense micromanaging and complete surrender of control pepper this recorded stream of lullabies to myself and those that choose to listen” – Ed Madill
Born in the mountains, living in the plains, Wyla is the solo project of Edward Madill, an eccentric nomadic musician criss-crossing his way through the United States one tour at a time. With Wyla he channels fuzzy, droney shoegaze fused with psychic alternative rock. Bleach Ceviche, the latest Wyla release, was recorded in Philadelphia between 2020-2022.
